Anthony Darnell

Anthony is a two-time Cincinnati Entertainment Award Nominee (CEA), once for Best Supporting Actor in Kimberly Akimbo and once for Best Alternative Production of iLove: which he co-wrote, directed, and performed.
Recently, Anthony appeared as Neil in Winky and provided Scenic/Kuroko Design for Making of a Monster.
Some of Anthony’s favorite performances include a cheeky teen in After Ashley, the guy you love to hate in Red Light Winter, clones with identity troubles in A Number, and a wannabe Hip Hop rhymer in Gompers.
For The Satori Group he has played the role of performer, writer, director, producer, production manager, costume designer, teacher, and acting coach. Satori Group productions include: iLove:, Hello Again, (rsvp), TRAGEDY: a Tragedy, Making of a Monster, Artifacts of Consequence, Winky, and the Investigation of the Murder in El Salvador.
Anthony has worked professionally in Cincinnati with The Satori Group, Know Theatre, New Stage Collective, Concert Nova, Next to Nothing, and the Cincinnati Fringe Festival. He appeared in Titus with the Washington Ensemble Theatre.
In 2007 Anthony was awarded the Cincinnati Enquirer Rising Star Acclaim Award. As a playwright his piece (rsvp) received City Beat’s Critic’s Pick and he was awarded the Theatre Artist Project Grant for the creation of a one-man show based on songwriter Elliott Smith. His pieces have been performed professionally by Know Theatre, New Stage Collective, The Satori Group, and at the the Weston Art Gallery. He is a proud graduate of the Dramatic Performance Program at CCM.
