Monty Taylor
Associate Artist, Designer
Monty is a lighting designer and director. He received his BFA in Theatre Directing from Abilene Christian University and studied Lighting Design in the MFA program at CalArts under Heather Carson. Monty designed the lighting for the Satori Group’s production of TRAGEDY: a tragedy. He has also designed lights in Seattle for shows at Taproot Theatre Company, Absurd Reality Theatre, White Cat Productions and Atlas Theatre Ensemble. He continues to design lights for various theatres and industrial groups nationwide.
His notable directing shows include King Henry for Ghost Light Theatricals, and Curse of the Starving Class and Two Rooms as a founding member of the Itinerant Theatre Group. He is currently working on developing and directing a pilot for a food-based TV show.
Monty is an Open Source programmer, advocate and speaker. He is currently involved in several projects related to bringing Open Source to the world of performance and production.
